Position Overview: As a Barber/Stylist at By Design gentlemen’s salon, you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-notch grooming services to our clients. Responsibilities:

1. Haircutting and Styling: Ultimately be able to perform precision haircuts, styles, and grooming services tailored to individual client preferences and hair types.

2. Shaving and Beard Grooming: Offer traditional and contemporary shaving services, beard trims, and facial grooming, utilizing expert techniques and premium products.

3. Consultation: Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their grooming needs and provide personalized recommendations.

4. Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest grooming trends, products, and techniques to provide clients with expert advice and product recommendations.

5. Client Engagement: Build strong client relationships by providing exceptional customer service, creating a welcoming environment, and maintaining a professional demeanor.

6. Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to strict sanitation and safety protocols to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the salon space and tools.

7. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a harmonious and productive working environment, sharing knowledge and supporting one another.

8. Appointment Management: Efficiently manage appointment bookings and schedules to ensure optimal client flow. Time management as well.

 

 

Qualifications:

1. Valid state barber or cosmetology license.

2. No experience needed.

3. Possess a strong, moral and ethical compass in life.

4. For those with lots of proven experience as a barber or stylist, we would love to work with you.

5. Exceptional and growing customer service and communication skills.

6. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

7. Excellent time management and organizational skills.

8. A passion for exceeding expectations, attention for the details and a commitment to delivering top-quality services.

9. Communicate clearly in English.

Benefits:

• Hourly 17.50 and up DOE base pay, and/or commission 40-60% compensation with opportunities for tips.

• Paid for training, does not include fares to and from, overnight stays or meals.

• Quarterly retention bonuses after 6 months

• Monthly massage allowance after 3 months

• Automated scheduling system, with reminders and follow up correspondence. Such as 24hr reminders for appointments and 4-week post service follow ups. This decreases missed appointments ($) and increases your client retention.

• Earn 50% higher PTO. 1.5 hours for every 40 hours worked

• Strong image and branding in our marketplace, highest ratings on Goggle, equals high request for our services. We routinely turn away over 60 people a month. New stylist will see ALL new clients as well. Any existing clients that wish to see another stylist in the salon when asked.
